Using SWOT Analysis

Open SWOT Analysis from the Apps catalogue.

SWOT Analysis organises a project assessment into strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Supply your actual constraints so the analysis has a useful basis.

Set up the analysis

1. Describe the organisation, project or decision.
2. Add relevant source URLs when available, or skip the optional sources step.
3. Choose an objective, such as Strategic planning, and provide relevant sector, geography and audience details.
4. Add context such as resources, budget, known limitations and what still needs validating.
5. Choose the depth, review the context and report language, then select Start SWOT Analysis.
6. Follow progress and return to the saved analysis when ready.

Review and use the output

Read all four quadrants. Check whether each item is a supplied fact, an inference or an assumption. In particular, do not treat invented capabilities, affiliations or resource estimates as facts about your organisation.

Open Strategic Recommendations to explore actions suggested by combinations of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. Review the report and sources, then choose Export for Word or PDF.
